Intuitive Exercises

Last week I promised to reveal the 5 intuitive exercises that I use every day. Exercises that will help strengthen your intuitive ability – exercises you can use. These 5 exercises are at the root of not only my stage but my private intuitive consultant work. Sure you can be born with a certain level of gift – but why would you not want to strengthen it. Professional athletes are born with athletic prowess but many of them still hit the gym several times a day.

Try and keep the following things in mind when doing these exercises…

  • Be persistent – you might find your results are not great at first. They will improve over time as you begin to grow your intuitive sense.
  • Trust your gut – don’t second guess yourself.
  • Don’t stress about the results or getting “the right” answer – there are no right or wrong responses in these exercises.

Do these exercises practice the techniques and you too will be able to fine tune your intuitive ability.

1. The Dice Game:

This exercise was actually inspired by my little guy Austen. He has a number of blocks he plays with each and every day. By watching him play I quickly realized that he was learning a lot by playing with these little cubes. He would stack them up and knock then down – instant physics lesson. He was learning about cause and effect, mastering motor skills and coordination. All important in his development.

Playing the game is simple – take a six sided numbered die and a small cup. Shake the dice inside the cup – placing the cup down on the table so it covers the die and you can’t see what number has been rolled.

Now close your eyes – and see one of the six numbers on the die – the first one that comes to mind. Lift the cup – were you right? Keep a running tally of the number of times your intuitive feel was correct. Your goal should be 70% accuracy with this exercise.

2. The Blind Game:

Close your eyes and navigate a part of your home or yard without using your natural vision. Feel your surroundings. Know where things are. With enough practice you will eventually be able to find your way around your home through sensing your surroundings and being consciously aware of the energy and space around you. Exercise caution when playing this game – I don’t want anyone getting hurt. ;)

3. The Name Game:

When in social situations where you are meeting and interacting with new people. Try and get a sense of what a person’s name is before they introduce themselves. Make a quick mental guess – trust your gut – go with your instinct and you will be floored by how accurate you are.

4. The Phone Game:

This is a variation on The Name Game. When you receive a phone call – instead of looking at the call display – feel who it is that is calling you. Make your mental guess. I can’t stress the trust in what you initially feel enough – this is key.

5. The Card Game

Take a deck of 52 playing cards. Shuffle the deck. Place the deck face down and focus on the identity of the top card. Visualize whether the card is a red card or a black one. Turn it over. Continue through the deck tracking every correctly identified color. Once again shoot for 70% accuracy. Keep in mind that missing 100% of the colors is just as incredible.

Doing these deceptively simple exercises on a daily basis will help to grow your intuitive skill set. Try and find time to perform these exercises each and every day. Over time you will find that your rate of accuracy will improve greatly. Remember – we all have muscles – those who work them are the ones with strength and power. Think of these games as a part of your daily routines. Practicing the use of your intuitive skills is key.

Consider this the first rung on your ladder.

Thoughtfully yours…
