No Such Thing As Coincidence...
In my opinion there is no such thing as a coincidence…
Coincidence is defined as: A sequence of events that although accidental seems to have been planned or arranged.
We give too much credence and credit to the word coincidence. Casting off moments that are extraordinary in nature as being simply “coincidental”. We quite often will have moments of genuine intuitive clarity that we down play and remove great levels of significance from. As you read this I encourage you to stop doing this. I encourage you to realize that nothing in your world is coincidental. Coincidence is a fallacy – it does not exist.
Picture the following example. You receive a phone call from a friend you haven’t spoken with in many years. Someone who you found you lost connection with, someone you lost touch with. Years pass, and you find yourself thinking of that person, wondering “what ever happened too…”. That evening – from out of the blue your phone rings. On the other end, you’re long lost friend. Many make the automatic leap to the incident being purely coincidental. Your friend was very clearly thinking of you, and you were very clearly thinking of them. Intuitively the two of you were linked – and one of you decided to act upon those thoughts. This is not coincidence – this is a human intuitive link at its finest. Many of you reading this have had this exact experience – its power and what it proves is undeniable.
Fate, kismet, and natural intuition and knowing all frequently take “back seat” to coincidence, and wrongfully so.
An amazing story I read recently is that of Alex and Donna Voutsinas. An American couple with a story so incredible it’s hard to imagine anything other than fate being responsible for it. Days before their wedding Mr. Voutsinas was flipping through a photo album filled with childhood pictures of his soon to be wife. He comes across a photo of his fiancé and her family in Disney World. As he looks at the photo he is incredulous and shocked at what he sees. In the background of the photo (taken when his soon to be wife was only 5 years old) he recognizes his father pushing a stroller with him in it. 30 years prior he and his wife had crossed paths – unbeknownst to them. He was living in Canada at the time and she in Florida – and they both just happened to be present at the exact moment in Disney world, when that photo as shot. Fate had brought them together -- there has to be more at play here then simple coincidence.
